The elephant in the room
has been pregnant for
days
months
year
inverted in inner labor
keeping the seed from the cycle of life
inside, far from coming out
Their moon grows
new
half,
then full.
The elephant can only stay pregnant for so long
until she pops.
Poem by Sabrina E. Perri
I like this poem! I wrote an elephant in the room poem recently called Pachyderm in the Privy. Hope you’ll check it out.
